Volunteer State Community College Radio, WVCP-FM 88.5, is pleased to broadcast the High School Airwaves Program.  Listen on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. during the Spring Semester, or get the program podcast at any time by clicking here.

The program is a new public service outreach for WVCP.  It gives high school students an opportunity to get involved with the radio station, play music, and broadcast news of events and activities at their school.

The schools participating so far include Gallatin, White House, Portland and Beech High Schools along with Merrol Hyde Magnet School.  Due to the station’s availability through FM, web streaming, and podcasts, the relatives and friends of students are able to easily access and hear the broadcasts.

While Spring 2009 was the first semester for High School Airwaves, WVCP hopes to make this opportunity available during each spring semester.  Schools that may not have heard about this opportunity and would like to get involved can contact the program’s producer, Holly Nimmo, at 615-230-3257 or holly.nimmo@volstate.edu.
