1.  Determine needed library facilities, resources and services at Livingston and McGavock Centers.

1. Needed library facilities, resources, and services at Livingston and McGavock Centers will be identified by March 31, 2004

Budget: Adequate

1. List existing facilities, resources and services at Livingston and McGavock Centers.  This will serve as the baseline.

2. Develop and administer needs assessment survey to Livingston and McGavock faculty, staff and students. 

3. Record use of library facilities, resources and services at these Centers.

2.  Increase use of technology to provide Library services and resources and to communicate with library users.

1. Library handouts will be placed on the Library’s web page by December 19, 2003. 2.Chat reference and its cost will be investigated by February 27. 

3. Use of student e-mail for announcements will be investigated by November 21, 2003.

Budget: Adequate

1. Place Faculty Library Guide, Library newsletter, information sheet and library instruction class handouts on Library’s Web page.

2. Research various chat reference products, including cost.

3. Determine campus person/area in charge of student e-mail, and inquire of procedures to be followed in using student e-mail.  If allowed, begin using student e-mail.

3.  Improve satisfaction of library patrons with noise level in the Library.  (This was an area on which the Library scored low on the Library Survey;  negative comments were also made.)

85% of library patrons will answer “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the noise level in the Library on the Library spring survey.

Budget: Adequate

1. Discuss in Library Division meeting and Library Committee meeting ways to decrease the noise level in the Library. 

2. Implement the suggestions. 

3. Develop, communicate and implement a Noise Control Policy.

4.  Determine learning outcomes for library instruction sessions and choose assessment method for these outcomes.

1. Learning outcomes for library instruction sessions will be developed by March 15, 2004.

2. A means to assess learning outcomes will be chosen by June 18, 2004.

3. Use of WebCT for library web tutorial will be investigated.

Budget: Adequate

1. Research library instruction learning outcomes in library literature and listservs.

2. Obtain assistance from Library Committee on final determination of learning outcomes.

3. Research assessment methods for library instruction programs.

4. Survey TBR library directors on assessment methods they use for library instruction.

5. Discuss with campus WebCT people use of WebCT by all students to complete the library tutorial.
