1. Establish baseline for the number of students using career placement services.

1. Log physical visits made to the placement office

4. Establish a “hit” counter to the placement website to track number of visits

3.  Increase positive outcomes in the following three areas as identified by area employers in the Employer Satisfaction Survey:


1.       Communicates effectively in writing

2.       Communicates effectively orally

3.       Demonstrates solid interpersonal skills

Improve employer satisfaction scores in these areas to at least a 4.0 on a 5. 0 scale where 5.0 is above average


1. Methods to increase the response rate on the Employer Survey will be further investigated to address low response rates for some programs.

2. The institution will invite human resource personnel and managers of local businesses where graduates are typically employed to participate in a focus group to determine ways to increase information gathered from the survey. In addition, during these meetings, survey items will be reviewed for appropriateness of the question and ease with which the information is available.

3. The curriculum of the AAS Fire Science and AAS General Business Administration will be reviewed to ascertain if further integration of communication and interpersonal skills in some of the courses should be implemented. Follow-up with employers identifying these as areas of weakness will occur to obtain clarification.

4. Program specific information will be shared with the teaching faculty of each of the disciplines.

4. Increase the career/vocational rate at or above the TBR threshold

Obtain at least a 90% placement rate with the goal of 92%


1. Contact GBA students prior to graduation, ideally, during the administration of the GBA exam to gather current employment status or employment needs

2. Work closely with Allied Health Department Chairs, to gather current employment status or employment needs of future grads

3. Conduct a post-graduation survey of all grads beginning 4 weeks after graduation.

4. On going follow up with grads for 1 year after graduation until the grad is placed in a career related position.
