1.Increase the rate of students, faculty, staff and community participation in College events.

Increase the amount of high school students visiting VSCC.

 

The Tech Prep Coordinator will increase the number of schools within the Consortium area attending the VSCC Job Expo or another similar event by 1.

Using the number of schools that attended the 2001 VSCC Job Expo (7) as a base line, the number of schools in attendance at the 2002 Job Expo (or a similar event) will be measured.

2.Increase the rate of students, faculty, staff and community participation in College events.

Increased attendance and marketing (publicity) for Tech Prep workshops.

 

There will be a 10% increase in the amount of participants at the 2002-2003 workshops offered by the Tech Prep Coordinator at VSCC and/or other locations in conjunction with the North Central Tech Prep Consortium.

Using the attendance from the 2001-2002 Tech Prep (North Central Tech Prep Consortium) workshops as a base line, measure and compare the number of attendees and the type of personnel involved.

3.Increase the rate of students, faculty, staff and community participation in College events.

The North Central Tech Prep Consortium will host a Conference at VSCC that will involve participation from business, industry, and educators.

 

The Conference will provide and establish working relationships between Consortium participants on subjects such as: qualities that the current workforce needs for successful employment, the student dropout rate, contextual learning, the “Gold Collar” worker, etc.

Using the number of business and education participants (150) in 1992 as a baseline, the number of participants at the conference will be measured.

VI. 

The College will ensure access to programs and services.

4.Increase articulation with public and private institutions. The Tech Prep Coordinator will work with the North Central Tech Prep Consortium’s secondary schools and VSCC faculty to review and identify needed articulation agreements.

 

The North Central Tech Prep Consortium will increase the number of high schools with which VSCC has Tech Prep articulations agreements by 24% over five years.

Adequate

Using the baseline of (12) articulation agreements in 2001-2002, the number of agreements in 2002-2003 will increase by (4) for a total of 16 articulation agreements.
