1:00 PM                  Chattanooga Chestnut Tree Project Report by Hill Craddock

 

1:40 PM               HIKE AND DISPLAY SETUP

                                 Bring your shovels as we hike the Forest Discovery Trail and

install a TACF sign including a chestnut demonstration planting.

Directions:

 

From Knoxville (3 hours) – Take I-40 to Nashville and take I-24 E exit #213A (left lane) toward Chattanooga.  Go three exits to the Harding Place exit #56 turning right (west) and follow as from Chattanooga.

 

From Chattanooga (2 hours) – Take I-24 to Nashville and take the Harding Place exit #56 and turn to the west (left coming from Chattanooga).  Travel almost 1 1/2 miles on Harding and turn left (south) at the light on Nolensville Pike.  Travel 1/10 of a mile and turn right onto Edmonson Pike.  Travel 1 1/2 miles and the entrance to Ellington is on the right, opposite McMurray Drive.  Cross the creek and turn right at the stop sign.  Bear right at the next entrance and we will be meeting in the green metal TWRA Region II building.

 

From Memphis (3.5 hours) -

Take I-40 to Nashville and merge right onto I-440 E exit 206 toward Knoxville.  Travel 4.4 miles and merge right (south) on I-65 toward Huntsville (exit 5). Go 2.2 miles and take the second exit (#78) Harding Place and go left (east).  Take a right at the second light onto Trousdale Drive.  Travel south for approximately 1.5 miles and turn left onto Hogan Road at the four-way stop.  Go 0.4 miles and turn left where Hogan Road tees into Marchant Drive.  Travel 0.5 miles on Marchant Drive until it tees into the Ellington Center entrance road and then turn left.  The TWRA Region II building (green metal building) will be the first building on the right.
