10:00: Prospective mother trees on the Highland Rim and in West Tennessee -- Joe Schibig, Volunteer State C.C.
10:45: Discussion of 2005 Pollination Schedule
11:15: Chapter Elections and Business Meeting
12:00: Lunch Provided
12:45: Orchard Management -- Sam McInturff, Greenback, TN
1:30: Collecting local strains of virus-containing blight fungus -- Lisa Worthen, UT-Chattanooga
2:15: Tour Chestnut plantings at Interstate Packaging Company
2:45-4:00: Additional Tour of Arboretum Grounds and Greenhouse
Directions:
From Nashville:
Take I-40 West to Exit 192 (McCrory Lane). Turn right onto McCrory
Lane, which takes you to Highway 70. Turn left onto Highway 70.
It is approximately 15 miles to White Bluff. Turn right onto Highway
47 North at the second stop light in White Bluff (in front of
McDonald's). Interstate Packaging is approximately one mile on
the left. Turn into the first entrance to Interstate Packaging.
The second entrance will be locked.
From Memphis: Take I-40 East to Exit 172 (Centerville /
Dickson) - just past a rest area. Turn right onto Highway 46 North.
which will take you to Highway 70 East. Turn right beside Eckerd
Drugs. Then it is approximately 15 miles into White Bluff. Turn
left onto Highway 47 North at the first stop light in White Bluff
(beside McDonald's). Interstate Packaging is one mile on the left.
Turn into the first entrance to Interstate Packaging. The second
entrance will be locked.
