9:30 to 10:00 AM (Central Standard Time) --Welcome and Registration
10:00 to 10:30 AM -- Meet the Tennessee Tech Faculty
10:30 to 11:15 AM --The Chattanooga Chestnut Project: 2004 Pollination and Harvest Results by Hill Craddock and students
11:15 to 11:45 AM --Chapter Business Meeting: Announcements, Committees, and Goals for 2005 by Michael Doochin, Chapter Pres.
11:45 AM to 12:15 PM -- Lunch of pizza and soft drinks provided by the Chapter; 
                                            Slide show "Chestnut Trees and Chestnut People" by Joe Schibig
12:15 to 1:45 PM -- Presentation: "3rd International Chestnut Conference in Chavez, Portugal" by Greg Weaver
                                    Presentation: "Ecology of the American Chestnut in KY and TN" by Joe Schibig and Mark Vance
1:45 to 2:45 PM -- Field trip to Shipley Farms, site of proposed Tenn Tech chestnut orchard
2:45 to 4:00 PM -- Field trip to Cummings Falls (weather permitting)  Photo of Cummings Falls
                                 A majestic waterfall and gorge is home to several American chestnut sprouts
4:00 PM -- Return to Tenn. Tech and Adjourn

Directions:

From Nashville: Take I-40 East to Exit 286 and turn left (north) onto TN Hwy 135 (Willow Avenue). Travel about 3.5 miles and turn right (east) onto TN Hwy 290 (12th Street). At the first light turn right (south) onto Dixie Avenue. Pennebaker Hall is the second building on the right and a parking lot is on the left. See city and campus maps below.

From Knoxville: Take I-40 West to Exit 288 and turn right (north) onto TN Hwy 111 for about one mile. Turn off on the Spring St., Hwy 70N Monterey Exit and turn left (west). Travel for about 2 miles and at the first light beyond the square turn right (north) onto Dixie Avenue. Travel for almost a mile, and after passing 9th St., park in the lot on the right just past the dormitories. Pennebaker Hall is the next to the last building on the left side of Dixie Avenue. From Chattanooga: Take TN Highway 111 North one mile past its intersection with I-40. Turn off on the Spring St. (Hwy 70N) Exit and follow as above, from Knoxville.
