Schedule for Dr. Farris' Section

SCHEDULE AND DUE DATES:

You have 10 labs and 20 lessons to turn in.  That means you will be doing 2 to 3 assignments per week, as assigned below.  A common cause of failure in video courses is getting behind.  Work turned in late will receive a penalty.

To be "on time" an assignment must:

Bear a time stamp no later than 11:59 PM on the night due if emailed.

Be turned in to me or the Divison Office (Warf 100) no later than due date if handed in.

Bear a postmark no later than the due date if mailed

Note that if you put your mail in a drop box after the last pick up of the day, it will be postmarked on the next day.

Oct 20          Midterm Exam:  Saturday, Oct 20, 9:00 AM, Warf 111

Oct 27          Lessons 11, 12, Lab 5:  H-R Diagram
Nov 3           Lessons 13, 14
Nov 10         Lesson 15, Lab 6:  Sunrise/Sunset
Nov 17         Lesson 16, Lab 7:  Scale Model of the Earth-Moon System

Nov 21         Note this is a Wednesday.  Lesson 17, Lab 8:  Shape of the Moon's Orbit

Dec 1           Lessons 18, 19, Lab 9:  Latitude and Longitude

This Lat/Long. Lab requires you to observe the Sun and the North Star.  You should do this ahead of time so you don't get stuck with cloudy skies!
