"The TCA shall hold an annual Conference each fall at a time and place to be determined by the Executive Committee. In addition to instructional and research programs, a business meeting of all members shall be held at each conference. Additional business meetings may be called by the Executive Committee."

The 2010 Annual Meeting will be hosted at MTSU Foundation House, 304 West Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, TN on Friday and Saturday, September 10-11. On Friday, participants will meet at MTSU's Foundation House and on Saturday, the conference will continue in the Doubletree Hotel conference room.

From Knoxville:
To Nashville/ I 40 Westbound. Exit right following the sign Murfreesboro/Hwy 840 Westbound (exit 235). Continue on Hwy 840 Westbound. Exit right following the sign Nashville/Chattanooga/ I 24 (exit 53A, 53 B). Ramp forks - keep left to Chattanooga/I 24 Eastbound (exit 53). Continue on I 24 Eastbound - exit right following the sign Murfreesboro/Hwy 96 Eastbound - (exit 78 B) - Continue on Old Fort Parkway/Hwy 96 - Turn left at second light - DoubleTree is located on left.

From Memphis:
Take I-40 East to the 440 Bypass over I-24 East towards Chattanooga. Once on I-24 continue to Exit 78B Murfreesboro. This places you on Old Fort Parkway/Highway 96. The DoubleTree Hotel is located on the left at the second traffic light.

 

Directions from the hotel to the Foundation House: 
Turn right out of the hotel parking lot. Travel past Walmart and take a right onto Thompson Lane. Continue Straight on Thompson Lane approximately 7 miles. The MTSU Foundation House is on the left. Miller Coliseum is the very next entrance on the left after passing the Foundation House.

We invite colleagues from college, high school, and professional ranks to attend and to participate in our Fall 2010 Conference.
Further, we invite business, corporate and organizational professionals to attend both as presenters and conferees.

TCA Argumentation & Forensics Interest Group:

The Tennessee Communication Association Argumentation & Forensics Interest Group invites your participation at the 2010 Annual Meeting on September 10-11, 2010, at Middle Tennessee State University. 

Proposals for presentations should include name, e-mail and telephone #, a descriptive title for the paper and an abstract of not more than 50 words (typed using MS Word or MS FrontPage).    Presenters must register for the fall conference and include annual membership dues.

Individual presentations should not exceed 15 minutes, including a brief Q&A session.

TCA Corporate & Organizational Communication Interest Group:
 

Proposals for presentations should include name, email, telephone number, a descriptive title and an abstract of no more than 50 words.  Please submit this information to:

Presentations will last approximately 15 minutes each.  Include any visual or audiovisual equipment you might need during your presentation.  Presenters must register for the fall conference and include annual membership dues.

TCA Curriculum & Instruction Interest Group:

Proposals for presentations should include name, e-mail and telephone #, a descriptive title for the program and an abstract of not more than 50 words (typed using MS Word or MS FrontPage).   

The Curriculum and Instruction presentations should not exceed 15 minutes, including a brief Q&A session.  Presentations may include, for example, teaching tips, innovations in instruction or curriculum development topics. We encourage submissions that include a wide variety of interests. Include a list of any visual or audiovisual equipment needed during your presentation.  Presenters must register for the fall conference and include annual membership dues.





Call for Papers:
TCA Interpersonal & Small Group Communication Interest Group

This is a call for papers for the Interpersonal and Small Group Communication Interest Program for the Fall 2010 TCA Conference.  Please submit a titled 50-word paper/presentation abstract.  Also, please include your name, title, school address, e-mail address, and phone number with your abstract.    Presentation should relate to the conference theme and will last approximately 15 minutes each.  Include any visual or audiovisual equipment you might need during your presentation. (A presenter will be notified if any specified equipment cannot be provided.) Presenters must register for the fall conference and include annual membership dues.

TCA Mass Communication Interest Group

Proposals for presentations should include name, e-mail and telephone #, a descriptive title for the program and an abstract of not more than 50 words (typed using MS Word).   

The Mass Communication presentations should not exceed 15 minutes, including a brief Q&A session.  Presentations may include topics involving any aspect of Mass Communication. We encourage submissions that include a wide variety of interests.  Presenters must register for the fall conference and include annual membership dues.



Call for Papers:
TCA Rhetoric & Public Address Interest Group

Proposals for presentations should include name, e-mail and telephone #, a descriptive title for the program and an abstract of not more than 50 words (typed using MS Word).  

The Rhetoric and Public Address presentations should not exceed 15 minutes, including a brief Q&A session.  Presentations may include topics involving any aspect of Rhetoric and Public Address. We encourage submissions that include a wide variety of interests.  Presenters must register for the fall conference and include annual membership dues.



Student Papers:
Student papers for the 2010 conference are due May 7, 2010. Send proposals to Debra Jones.
