The Senate

Chaired by the Vice President. Volunteer State Community College's Student Government Association is made up of two houses. The Senate is made up of Senators who are elected by popular vote of the student body during student government elections or appointed by majority vote of the General Assembly.

Senators are elected or appointed for a one-year term with all the Senators running for re-election at the same time.

During the organizational session of the Senate, the body elects a Senior Senator. The Senior Senator is the second leader of the house, the first leader being the Vice President. They would preside over the Senate and act as Chair in the absence of the Vice President.

According to the Constitution of the Student Government Association, the Senate meets at least once a month on the second Monday of that month at 12:30 pm. according to the Constitution of the Student Government Association.
