Live Nostoc, note the heterocyst and vegetative cells.


Live Paramecium, note the shadow of the cilia and other organells, visible both on live and prepared slides by slightly moving the fine focus.


Live Amoeba; note the pseudopods, defined as?

Live Euglena, note the green structure and shadow of the flagella


Spyrogira, a green algae

Note the zygospores intermingled with the mycelium in this "unflattering representative" of sexual
reproduction in black bread mold.


Note the ascospores of this common "sac fungi", a cup-fungi called Peziza.


Hard to see in this illustration, but represented are basidiospores, which
are often referred to as "club fungi".  These spores belong to Coprinus,
a common mushroom.
