1.Who is eligible for membership in Phi Theta Kappa?Any student at Vol State with a minimum of 12 hours and a 3.5 or higher gpa is eligible for membership. Only those students who receive a letter of invitation, however, will be able to join.
2.What are the requirements for staying in Phi Theta Kappa?Once a member, you must maintain at least a 3.3 gpa while enrolled at Vol State. The Beta Delta Kappa chapter has bi-monthly meetings. Members are not required to attend meeting or events though. Membership follows this adage: "Your grades are good enough to get and keep you in"
3.What happens if my gpa falls below the 3.3 requirement?If your gpa falls below a 3.3, then you will be placed on probation for one semester. If after that semester you are unable to attain a 3.3 gpa then your membership in PTK will be terminated.
4.How much does membership cost?The price of membership varies from year to year, but the current membership fee is $65 ($50 membership fee plus $15 dues). Annual scholarships for two or three members are currently being discussed.

You can also pay your dues in Wood (room 217) or the business office. Dues must be paid once a year.
Yes, new members must attend the induction.
7.What are the benefits of membership?Membership in Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) has many benefits to you. Benefits include the following:

1.What does the Beta Delta Kappa chapter do at VSCC?The PTK chapter at VSCC does many service and academic related activities during the course of a given year.For example, the 2007-2008 school year the chapter sponsored the following events:
- soldier and meth donation drives
- roundtable discussion
- planting ceremony
- sponsored a local officer to speak about Meth
