Using ATHENA

To search for an item ATHENA:

    1. Type a word or phrase that describes the items you want to find.
    2. Click one of the radial buttons to indicate the search type that you would like.
    3. Click the button or press enter.

 

  • A Keyword search will find the search term(s) you typed anywhere  in the area of the book's record.  *Note that by clicking on keyword you are searching the book's entire record. The term does not have to be at the beginning of the record.
  • Author:  Use this format:  Last Name First Name (no comma needed).
  • Title:  Omit leading articles a, an, the.
  • Subject Headings: Look for items on a topic.  To look for items about a person, enter his last name first.
  • These searches will simultaneously search the library catalogs of the participating institutions
