14: Bronze
Chariot from the Emperor's Sepulcher In December 1980, the tomb of
the First Emperor of the Qin was probed.
It revealed this bronze chariot, bronze horses, and bronze man.
This is a life-size rendering of a chariot that would have served
a Qin queen, imperial concubine, or crown prince. Two chariots were unearthed from the west flank of the tomb and are now on display in the site's museum. Four other chariots are still buried, but the Chinese government doesn't want them unearthed because they would deteriorate in the outside air.
