At LBL, over 200 chestnut specimens have been located close to
 Kentucky Lake in Stewart and Trigg counties on the western edge of LBL.
 

A graffiti adorned building at LBL is a temporary home for Will.
 



This old decay-resistant chestnut log has likely been resting on a bluff overlooking
Kentucky Lake for about 70 years since it likely died of blight in the 1940s.

A vigorous  young chestnut sprout growing in the dry, cherty, acidic soil at LBL.
 


Joe takes a photo of a chestnut with a beautiful swollen canker which is
evidence that this American chestnut tree has some resistance to blight.
