Thoughts for Grady Eades' Webpage

"You're an awesome teacher. Best, by far, in my 2 years here. Very entertaining. The class was very entertaining informative and enjoyable. (I also gave you a chili pepper on ratemyprofessor.com)"

"I really struggled in this class and wanted to drop, but decided to push thorugh it and challenge myself. I'm glad I did even though I'm sure my grade isn't that good."

"Don't take this class if you hate writing papers and reading."

"I wanted to convey my thanks to for believing in me as well as your encouragement.

"I think of all the professors I've had thus far I have not had one that possessed a love of America like yours. I'll be honest with you, your classes have opened my eyes to a lot of the horrible things that our nation has done. It created a crisis for me. I'm a patriotic individual. I come from a military family and now I have seen a side of the United States that I don't like. So, I watched you. Especially when we were listening to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. speak - I saw you fighting back the tears. I can say with a clear conscience that I love America and would want to live in no other country. I'm not proud of some of the things she has done but I believe in the upward march of liberty in the world. In you I found a model of a true American who can acknowledge our wrong doings and yet still believe in her mission.

"Thanks for being that, and for being there.
It's been a pleasure and I wish you and your wife the best of luck!"

" This may seem odd, but I wanted to tell you about a revelation I had
while watching the President's speech tonight. Upon hearing about the
world as it is in this time, I started thinking about all the things
I've learned about how it used to be (the things I've learned in your
class). Well, the thing is, I am, for the first time ever, enjoying a
history class. I can't remember a single thing I've ever learned about
American history (or any history for that matter), but I'm retaining the
material and actually becoming interested in the things we talk about in
class. So, I wanted to thank you for being different from any other
history teacher I've had before...you seem to find a way to make boring
facts fun to know (even to someone who was a professional history-hater
:) Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for that part you've played in
my grand revelation!"
