The tuition costs are the same, but this course requires the purchase of WebTutor which contains the access code needed to access both Principles of Accounting I and II. Thus WebTutor will have to be purchased only once if you are taking both Principles of Accounting I and II on the web. WebTutor contains other resources that will aid the student in completing the course and can be purchased from the bookstore along with the text. There are materials required for the traditional course that are not required for this web course, thus the cost of the web course and the traditional course is about the same. Questions regarding financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid office at extension 3456. |

Yes, but as with any other course, you should check the catalog. |
| My name is Brent Trentham and my contact information is provided on my web page at http://www2.volstate.edu/btrentham/ My office hours are also posted on this site. Once the course begins, we will use the WebCT course e-mail and discussion board for communications related to the course. |
| All assignments and tests will be completed using the resources provided within WebCT, WebTutor, Excel or other software provided. Each chapter of the text assigned will contain exercises, problems and a quiz that must be submitted. The software for the exercises and quizzes is provided. The assigned problems will be completed in Excel and submitted via email. Lectures, demo problems, games and other resources are provided to assist you in completing the assignments. Any other projects assigned may be completed on the computer and submitted via email. |
| There will be no scheduled class meetings for this course. You may visit me during my office hours if needed. |
| The course content and access to the software needed to complete the course is available within WebCT and WebTutor. Chapter notes, project instructions, grades, the course syllabus, and other materials can also be viewed on my web page at http://www2.volstate.edu/btrentham. Click on the 'Courses' button to access this course and instructor provided resources related to this course. |

| Any student enrolled should first contact me via email at brent.trentham@volstate.edu . I will respond with instructions to access the course. As mentioned above, students will have to purchase WebTutor to obtain an access code to enter the course. My instructions will walk you through the steps to access the course. In addition to WebTutor, students will have to purchase the text and The Snow Shop Practice Set. The Snow Shop Practice Set is used in Principles of Accounting I only. Principles of Accounting II requires WebTutor and the text to be purchased. It should be noted the same WebTutor packet can be used for both courses. |

What do I do if I need assistance with technology or the course? |
| Your first contact should be with me. If you cannot access me through the course email, you can contact me by phone at extention 3787 or through my regular Vol State email account, brent.trentham@volstate.edu. If I cannot help with a technology related question, I may have to direct you to the Help Desk for assistance. |
| A schedule of assignments will be provided that will require homework submissions to be performed on a regular basis. I DO penalize students for submitting assignments or quizzes late. If desired, students can submit assignments early. Students are encouraged to not delay beginning a new assignment. Start early and utilize the discussion board and email for assistance when needed. Visiting the discussion board on a regular basis can be very beneficial. Some of your questions may have already been asked and answered by other students. At times students may be assigned to respond to questions posted on the discussion board. |
| Expectations can best be communicated by reviewing the syllabus and schedule of assignments on my web page at http://www2.volstate.edu/btrentham/. Click on the 'Courses' button and then select the appropriate course. |
| All assignments can be accessed from the homepage of the course within WebCT or by visiting my web page. Once the course begins, I will provide instructions regarding the submissions. |
| All due dates related to chapter assignments are included on the schedule of assignments which is provided on the homepage of the course within WebCT, or you can access this schedule on my web page. I provide a link to other projects on the homepage of the course within WebCT, or you can access instructions to these projects on my web page. |
| I have found that communications with other students in this course are most efficient when using the discussion board provided in WebCT. I encourage students to use the discussion board when asking questions so that all students can see the question(s) and response(s). |
| The submission of assignments vary depending on the type of assignment. Quizzes and exercises are automatically submitted within WebCT when finished. Problems and other projects will be submitted via email. |
| Chapter quizzes are provided within the course contents of WebCT. A quiz will be graded and submitted once the student selects the 'Finish' button. All quizzes are open book and are available when the course begins. Do not let 'open book' fool you, because they are tough. I will accept only your first submission for quizzes. |
All assignments and quizzes are available when the course begins. I have no problem with a student working ahead of schedule. |
| I will post grades on the web using an alias for each student. These postings can be accessed from WebCT or my web page. I will update the postings after each submission (due) date. |
