NotesAlthough a separate grade is not given for the laboratory section of Organic Chemistry 2010, it does represent 30% of your overall grade for the course. Of the 30% weight, 25% is from lab reports and 5% is from the lab final.   There are no makeup labs.    Your lowest laboratory report grade will be dropped; if you miss a lab, the missed lab will be counted as your drop.

Safety in the lab is of the utmost importance! You will be instructed in the safe use of all lab equipment, safety procedures, and the location of all safety equipment.

You must wear safety glasses AT ALL TIMES. You are also required to wear long pants and closed shoes (no shorts, skirts, or sandals). If you are not properly attired, you will not be allowed in the lab. There is no eating or drinking allowed in the lab (don't even bring food items into the lab).

Lab reports may be submitted in electronic format, using Word ( doc or docx ) or PDF format.  The report format and grading scheme is discussed elsewhere.

Your laboratory instructor will describe the procedure for submitting your pre-lab reports and final lab reports.   It is expected that you will submit the reports in a timely fashion.  The schedule for due dates and any penalties for tardiness will be described by your instructor.
