Lab Exam & Check-out

Notes:  Although this laboratory section of General Chemistry 1110 does not give separate credit, it does represent 30% of your overall grade for the course.  This 30% includes:  25% from lab reports, and 5% from a practical lab exam.  You will have one 'drop lab' which you can use to drop your lowest lab report or one you were not able to attend.  There are no makeup labs.  All lab rports are to be turned in by due dates, in a word doc. or docx. format and consist of orginal data, observations, results and conclusions. Please refer to the syllabus and student handbook regarding plagiarism. Furthermore all use of ideas and specific quotes other than your own (original) must be correctly cited. Numerous websites discuss correct use of MLA or APA styles for writing technical reports.

Safety in the lab is of the utmost importance! You will be instructed in the safe use of all lab equipment, safety procedures, and the location of all safety equipment. You must wear safety glasses AT ALL TIMES. You are also required to wear long pants and closed shoes (no shorts, skirts, or sandals). If you are not properly attired, you will not be allowed in the lab. There is no eating or drinking allowed in the lab (don't even bring food items into the lab).
