  • DNA is such a simple molecule.  How could it code for so many different genes?

  • Nature uses a three-letter DNA codon;
  • 64 possible codons for 20 amino acids

And this codon usage is almost universal!
  • DNA is DNA, whether it is in a bacterium, a firefly, a chestnut tree, or one of us
