Second largest living American chestnut in Middle Tennessee known to me (eight inches in diameter and 50 feet tall) growing straight and tall amid red maples, sourwood, oaks and hickories.  It occurs on an upper south-facing, steep slope in northern Sumner County at an elevation of  920 feet.
