David Bowden finds another fruiting American chestnut tree in Sumner County, Tennessee (north central TN)

David Bowden discovered a nice fruiting American chestnut tree on his property three years ago and recently discovered a new one just a few miles from the first one.

Most of the burs were spitting out shriveled non-fertile nuts, but a few were coughing up good nuts, indicating there may be another chestnut tree in the vicinity.

Pollination of this road-side  tree will be easy with tall ladders or a bucket truck.
